A centre for bellringing excellence in the heart of Herefordshire

Start your bell ringing journey right, with our ART accredited teaching hub, based across five beautiful, historic towers in Burghill, Bodenham, Fownhope, Marden, and Wellington.

A place for everyone

Founded in 2026, the Burghill Teaching Hub brings together five local towers: Burghill, Bodenham, Fownhope, Marden, and Wellington. We follow the ART (Association of Ringing Teachers) ‘Learning The Ropes’ scheme and all of our teachers are either ART certified, or are working towards certification.

Our aim is to promote excellence in bell-handling and teaching, supporting both new and developing ringers as they build confidence and skill. We are committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for anyone who would like to start bellringing or improve their existing abilities.

Through shared experience, encouragement, and good practice, the Burghill Teaching Hub helps ringers learn, progress, and enjoy being part of the wider ringing community.

Teaching at your pace

Bellringing is an activity like no other: a unique mix of physical exercise with mental agility, that is a deep part of British history, practised for over 1000 years, and still evolving today.

Burghill Teaching Hub’s ART-certified teachers all share a passion for introducing this hobby to new learners, and helping more experienced ringers build and develop their skills for years to come.

Whether you’re only just starting out with bell handling basics, or you learned many years ago but need a re-introduction, our Hub is the perfect place to start.

“When I moved into the area, the Burghill Teaching Hub introduced me to not just a new hobby, but a thriving, welcoming community of like-minded people.”
